What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember your actions and preferences over time. We also use similar technologies — such as local storage, pixels, and software development kits (SDKs) — which we refer to collectively as "cookies" in this policy. Cookies can be "session" (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" (kept for a set period), and "first-party" (set by us) or "third-party" (set by another provider).
Categories we use
We group cookies into the categories below. We use strictly necessary, functional, and (first-party) analytics cookies. Based on a review of our site and product, we do not use marketing or advertising cookies.
- Strictly necessary — required for the site and product to function, such as keeping you signed in and securing sessions. These cannot be switched off in our systems.
- Functional / preference — remember choices you make (such as language or the state of the webchat widget) to give you a better experience.
- Analytics / performance — help us understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it. This includes visitor-tracking features that Customers may enable on their own sites via Mfluence.
- Marketing / advertising — We do not use marketing or advertising cookies.
Cookies in detail
The table below describes the types of cookies we use; no third-party analytics or marketing trackers are used. We recommend confirming exact cookie names and durations with a live cookie scan before each major release.
| Cookie / type | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
Session / authentication (iTextOmni) |
Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in and secures your session in the app. | Up to 7 days |
| Webchat widget session | Strictly necessary / functional | Identifies your webchat session so a conversation stays continuous. | Session |
| Preference | Functional | Remembers choices such as language or UI state. | Persistent (until changed or cleared) |
| Visitor tracking | Analytics / performance (first-party) | Supports the Web Visitor Tracking feature, recognising returning visitors to enable timely conversations. | Persistent (until cleared) |
Third-party cookies
Some cookies may be set by third parties that provide services on our site — for example, embedded tools such as our webchat widget. We do not use a third-party analytics provider (such as Google Analytics). Any third-party tools that are used may process data under their own privacy policies. We do not control third-party cookies and encourage you to review those providers' policies. See our Privacy Policy for how we share data with providers.
How to control cookies
You can control cookies in two main ways:
- Browser settings — most browsers let you block or delete cookies and warn you before they are set. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site or product from working. See your browser's help pages for instructions.
- Our preference controls — a cookie consent banner / preference centre is not yet implemented; this is planned before public launch.
Where Customers enable visitor tracking or a webchat widget on their own websites, those Customers are responsible for providing appropriate notice and consent to their visitors.
Consent mechanism
Where required by law, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies (functional, analytics, and any marketing cookies), and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time. Strictly necessary cookies are set without consent because the site cannot function without them. A cookie consent banner is being introduced; until it is available, please manage cookies via your browser settings. Once the banner is live, it will let you accept or reject non-essential cookie categories and change your choice at any time.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies changes. Updates will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
